More
Best known for his dance and industrial photography, and also his films, Eagle also made an intimate series of photographs of Jewish life in the New York area after he arrived in the United States. Much of this work was published in the Aperture book, "At Home Only With God: Believing Jews and Their Children", Arnold Eagle's document of New York's Orthodox Jews of the 1930s. Arnold Eagle photographs are characterized by brilliant, evocative lighting and a passionate love of his subjects. Vision Gallery has acquired his rare images of Jewish life from his estate.
