Christian Nesvadba was born in 1977 in Vienna, Austria, into a family with an artistic heritage spanning over several generations.
Participating in ordinary school systems, Christian Nesvadba's talent for drawing was soon recognized by many of his professors and he began attending a school specializing in drawing and engineering.
His first and most important tutor was his father, who was a very well-known and highly successful artist. Nesvadba’s first paintings were created on his father’s easel. Although he learned a great deal about drawing from his father, he soon developed his own sense and style of color.
Christian Nesvadba has an amazing love of flowers. He travels extensively and is an ardent photographer, which is how Nesvadba collects his ideas for new subjects and compositions. They are not in exact botanical form, instead he expresses their exploding colors in his paintings.
A major leap in his career was winning the “Salzburger Kulturfonds” prize in 1997, which is highly prestigious award for such a young artist to be given. In 1998 he had his first one-man show in Salzburg, another in Linz, and also at the renowned Galerie Otto in Vienna in 1999. He made his American debut at the 2000 New York Art Expo and held his first American exhibition at a gallery in New York in 2007.
