Marco Bohr was born in Wiesbaden, Germany in 1978. He moved to Canada in 1999 to study Photography at Ryerson University in Toronto. During a semester at Napier University in Edinburgh, Marco photographed the No Ball Games series which resulted in his first Solo Exhibition in 2003. Supported by a duMaurier Grant he moved to Japan for one year where he studied Japanese at Nihon University in Tokyo. In 2005, Marco was part of an exhibition and publication titled reGeneration: 50 photographers of tomorrow at the Musee de l'Elysee in Lausanne.
Since then, Marco has been studying for a MA in Photography at the Royal College of Art in London where he just exhibited for the final show. Earlier this year, Marco has been accepted as one of Photo District News Magazine’s ‘30 Emerging Photographers’. His photographs are currently exhibited in Shot and Go - A vision of today's international photography, a group show on the Island of San Servolo near Venice. Based in London, Marco continues to return to Canada, Japan and his native Germany to exhibit and present his work.
