After earning a degree in photography and art history at the University of Georgia, Melissa Sims became an artist's assistant. It was there that she discovered her love for painting. Constantly working with artists and learning new techniques allowed melissa to find her own way and voice. Needing more of a challenge in life, she decided to leave the comfort of Atlanta and move to Los Angeles. It started on her drive with her father as they drove Route 66. There she found countless neon signs that can be found in many of her paintings. Melissa has made her home in Pasadenam, California, with her husband and daughter. Less
