Viktor Bykov was born in 1958, in a Russian city called Cheliabinsk. In 1980 Bykov graduated from the Cheliabinsk Art College, and from 1988 to 1993 studied at the Stroganov Art & Design Institute in Moscow.

Viktor Bykov's works are held in the Cheliabinsk Museum of Art & Ethnography, in Stavropol City Gallery, and in private collections in Russia, Germany and France.
