Artist Statement
“I find sophistication in the simple lines and forms used by past civilizations. By intentionally manipulating the surfaces of my paintings I give them the appearance of being distressed. Some of my charcoal lines seem to unravel, while other forms contain bold marks that add strength. Each weathered canvas is unique, evolving in an unexpected manner, similar to the individual complexity of human beings.”
