Description:
Opium represents the first time Hirst created a signed edition based on his famous 'spot' paintings. This edition of 500 plays on his fascination with the human experience, life and death, and its intersection between popular culture and art. Titled after pharmaceutical ingredients, Opium is part of a series of methodical, precisionist geometric works that contrast with the random and uncontrollable nature of the artist's 'spin paintings'.
